We can tear out, haul away and replace your new walkway with several finishes but our most popular finishes are exposed aggregate and stamped concrete finishes. Our exposed aggregate finish varies greatly from the old way things were done and from our competitors. First, we use reputable concrete suppliers with freshly mixed concrete batches, not leftovers from bigger jobs. In general, concrete is composed of 4 main elements, cement, sand, water and an aggregate, which is normally gravel. With exposed aggregate, we replace the gravel with washed and screened pea gravel which results in a uniform coverage on the surface once the aggregate is exposed. Compared to our competitors who use the cheapest concrete suppliers, which are often watered down, too hot upon arrival and don’t always use pea gravel. Since 2002, Martinez Concrete has offered an exposed aggregate finish that gives a perfect coverage without pits or random gravel. You can gamble and run into the guys who use concrete bags, bring buckets of pea gravel, sprinkle it on, pack it down and leave you with uneven coverage and weak slab.
